Mercedes-Benz Sprinter dashcam hardwire fuse guide (Australia)
Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (907, 2018+). Use the passenger-footwell fuse box's coloured blocks (purple constant, grey switched) or the EK1 body-builder connector. Mind the switched feed staying live after shutdown.
Core fields known: 3/4 (✓ Box location · ✗ Fuse type · ✓ Switched (ACC) slot · ✓ Constant slot). Known doesn't mean verified. See the evidence badges below.
Fuse box location and type
Location: Fuse box in the passenger footwell (in front of the passenger seat). The EK1 body-builder connector is reported to be under the driver's seat on the 907. [1][2] Owner-reported
Fuse type: Unknown, help us verify
Unknown, help us verify.
Scope of this data: The EK1 terminal data is a manufacturer bulletin for the older 906 Sprinter. The block-colour data is from one German forum owner. Mercedes AU publishes a 907 modification guideline and an Australian supplement (not read in full).
Constant (always-on) fuse candidates
Battery-direct slots: 12V with the ignition off. Use for the camera’s parking-mode (BATT) wire. Candidates only. Meter each one.
| Slot | Rating | Label | Evidence | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Purple block (passenger footwell box) | n/a | constant (terminal 30) | Owner-reported | Owner-reported constant feed. [1] |
| EK1 terminal 2 (terminal 30 / battery) | 25A | EK1 X145/1 | Manufacturer source | From the MB bulletin for the 906. The bulletin says not to exceed 25A on terminal 30. [2] |
Ignition / ACC (switched) fuse candidates
Slots that read 0V with the ignition off and ~12V when it’s on. Candidates only. Meter each one.
| Slot | Rating | Label | Evidence | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grey block (passenger footwell box) | n/a | switched (terminal 15) | Owner-reported | Owner: the switched feed does NOT drop when the engine stops; it stays live until the driver's door is opened. [1] |
| EK1 terminal 3 (terminal 15 / ignition) | 15A | EK1 X145/1 | Manufacturer source | From the MB bulletin for the 906 Sprinter. 907 not confirmed. [2] |

Slots to avoid
- Anything outside the labelled blocks or EK1 connector, especially OBD and body-controller supplies.
Gotchas for this vehicle
How to verify before you tap (generic)
- Find the fuse box and its cover diagram. Use a multimeter or test light, with the black lead on bare chassis metal.
- Test both contacts on the top of each candidate fuse. Constant: 12V+ with the ignition off. Switched (ACC): 0V with the ignition off, 12V+ with the ignition on. Check again after the car has been locked a few minutes: some circuits stay live briefly.
- Don't put the ACC and constant wires in the same fuse slot. Use a fuse in the tap that suits the camera (typically 3–5A), and keep the tap the right way round so the fuse is fed from the supply side.
- Earth the black wire to a clean bare chassis bolt. Cable-tie the tap and wiring so nothing rattles loose.
- Check the dashcam on and off, and after the car sleeps. Look for warning lights, and for the vehicle waking or draining.
Generic method per the BlackVue hardwire kit manual and the BlackboxMyCar guide. Not specific to this vehicle.

Why this confidence rating? Best-sourced entry: a manufacturer body-builder bulletin (for the earlier 906) plus an owner post for the 907 describing constant and switched blocks. No slot numbers yet.
